With the theme:”Sustainable Development and Environmental Conservation for the Mining Sector of the Philippines”, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau and the technical division chiefs from its Regional Offices participated in the seminar spearheaded by the Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) held last January 23, 2017 at New World Hotel, Makati.
JOGMEC is a Japan-based company on minerals and energy that was established last 2004 to assure a stable supply of oil, natural gas, mineral resources, coal and geothermal energy of Japan and the Philippines.
With the effort of the bureau to properly implement the MGB Network layout, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Central Office convened the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Focal Persons from its Regional Offices last January 13, 2017 held at MGB Central Office, North Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City.
The coordination meeting was conducted to systematically plan the schedule of the contractor, and to finalize the proposed network layout of the various offices.
The Dumagats/Agtasin Dinapigue, Isabela is one of the 110 indigenous tribes in the Philippines.
The household and population count of Dumagats cannot be ascertained by local government agencies due to apparent absence of public documents connected to them. A number of them are nomads- finding their way to the remotest lands in themountainous part of northern Isabela. Some of them find livelihood through hunting and fishing. The total land area of Dinapigue covers 97000 hectares. 98% of which is forest land while the rest is residential. As such, it houses a wide variety of wildlife, both flora and fauna.
