OceanaGold continues to provide protective kits for frontline workers
Tuguegarao City, Cagayan- OceanaGold Philippines Incorporated in Didipio, Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya continues to provide assistance to our front liners in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic through its realigned 2019 Annual Social Development and Management Program (SDMP).
The mining company handed over 5,000 pieces of surgical masks and 20 gallons of alcohol to Local Government Unit of Quirino while 75 pieces of protective cover all, 3,000 pieces of latex disposable gloves and of gallons alcohol to Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), N95 and surgical masks, nitrile disposable gloves, and gallons of alcohol were likewise provided to Southern Isabela Medical Center and Cagayan Valley Medical Center.
Surgical masks and gallons of alcohol were also donated to Department of Health Region 02, Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region 02, and Mines and Geosciences Bureau Region 02.
OceanaGold also donated 1,000 pieces of surgical masks, 60 boxes of vitamins, 5 gallons of alcohol, and 1,000 liters of chlorine for disinfection to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and Ruhal Health Unit of Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya.
Additional PPEs and other protective kits will be distributed to the identified beneficiaries in the Provinces of Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Ifugao, Isabela, Cagayan, and Kalinga.
OceanaGold spent a total of Php7.9 million for the purchase and distribution of relief goods and protective kits to the target beneficiaries.
This is pursuant to the directives of Mines and Geosciences Bureau authorizing all regional offices to allow mining companies to realign their unutilized 2019 SDMP funds in support of their host and neighboring communities amid the community quarantine implemented across the country
